About the Minerals Reporting Australia (MRA)
Upholding Public Disclosure with Integrity
The Minerals Reporting Australia LTD (MRA) is a not-for-profit, member-based organisation committed to advancing the standards, competency, and transparency of public reporting in the minerals industry.
We were founded to address a clear need:
to raise the quality and consistency of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources, and Ore/Mineral Reserves (ERMROR) disclosure reports on the ASX
At a time when investor confidence, social trust, and technical accountability are more critical than ever, MRA exists to support the people behind the public reports, providing structure, support, and a high-integrity peer environment.

Why It Matters
MRA views ERMROR reporting as more than a compliance task, it’s a public responsibility.
Whether it’s an Exploration Result that moves a share price, or a Reserve Statement that underpins a project valuation, reporting decisions shape real-world outcomes.
MRA exists to help ensure those decisions are made with clarity, competence, and consequence in mind.
We believe:
- Competency is cultivated, not assumed
- Peer accountability strengthens individual integrity
- Advocacy must be rooted in technical rigour and public good
- Constructive collaboration across diverse contexts is essential
MRA exists to help ensure reporting decisions are made with clarity, competence, and consequence in mind.

Raising the Bar in Minerals Reporting
Minerals Reporting Australia was founded by a small group of experienced professionals who saw a gap:Â Competency in public reporting was too often assumed, untested, and unsupported.
We began meeting monthly in 2024 to review public announcements. Over the course of almost a year, we assessed more than 60 ASX reports and found material weaknesses in nearly every one.
What started as a peer conversation grew into something more powerful: a constructive, respectful process that sharpened judgement, deepened insight, and improved standards.
We all learnt through the process - far more than we were expecting - and so we decided to found Minerals Reporting Australia as a way to share that model with others.
Our aim is to raise the bar, not by criticising from the sidelines, but by creating a space for genuine peer learning, structured feedback, and professional growth and recognition. We believe competency is not a title, but rather that it is a capability built through experience, reflection, and engagement. And it deserves and can thrive with support.
We’re here to raise the bar, constructively and we’re here to support those who want to do the same, and we are keen to work with other organisations who may have similar aspirations.Â
